Ohio Garrison Events

Good evening troops, I just realized I have not posted a news entry since the end of the first ever Ohio Garrison Election for CO. I basically wanted to thank everyone for their support, in electing myself CO and I will do all that I can to help this group grow in the coming months. I also wanted to remind all who may be interested, to apply for the Ohio Garrison's Command Staff openings. Please be sure to hurry to the Members section and post interest as there is still time, but we will be making selections this weekend.

Just a reminder to all members of the Ohio Garrison. Elections are currently happening throughout the Legion. Please be sure to check in the member's section here in our own forums as well as the main 501st Legion boards to keep up to date on the election process.

Thank you to all who came out and made the trip to the Winter Social. It was great to see all in person out side of an event, and attendance like we had is what makes these events what they are. There will be a large amount of trooping events in the new year such as OhayoCon, The Hockey Game in Youngstown, the Dayton Metro Library Event, Techfest in Dayton, and so much more.

Also keep in mind that with February 1st comes a new election year so be sure to keep up to date on the Members only section of the message boards.

Many of our members will be making the journey south for this event.

I hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving with their families and friends, and survived Black Friday Festivities. Don't forget that the Star Wars in Concert event is just around the corner, as well as many other great events such as a Westerville Holiday parade. While the holidays tend to be a slow time you should always be able to find a good event in the events section to attend.

Good Afternoon troops, this is your Garrison PR officer here, with a reminder that Star Wars In Concert is coming to an Ohio City near you. Star Wars In Concert will be making stops in Toledo, Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati this December. The Garrison will be at all the performances lending a hand. If you are an Approved member in good standing of either the 501st or the rebel legion please check the Ohio Garrison boards for details. Listen up troops, one of the Ohio Garrison's best Comic Cons is almost upon us. Make sure to check the Mid-Ohio-Con planning section of the message boards for all the latest information as well as sign up details. For our non members please feel free to stop by the table at the con and meet with your local contingent of the 501st on October 3-4th at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.

Erich Kunzel, friend of the garrison and Legion, passed away today. The accomplished Pops Maestro conducted several concerts with the Cincinnati Pops, which were attended by the Garrison and we send our heart filled best wishes to his surviving friends and family. To know him was to know a friend, and a truly kind and fun loving spirit. Eric you will be missed. Rest in Peace.
